Corrections

How corrections work

• Material error — a fact, figure, name, date or attribution that changes the meaning of a record. Corrected in place, with a dated note at the foot of the record.
• Minor error — spelling, formatting or a broken link. Fixed without a note.
• Disputed claim — where a party contests a claim we cannot re-verify, the record's verification state moves to disputed and the dispute is described.

Legacy archive

Migrated records are marked unreviewed and are not corrected retroactively to reflect later events — that would misrepresent what was published at the time. Where a legacy record is factually wrong as of its own publication date, we annotate it rather than rewrite it.
